Yes that seems to be weird enough!!! But let's give it a shot and take a look.
The location of any space (longitude and latitude) is very important in cooling and heating load estimation as well as in solar hot water production.
Now with world wide energy problems more energy friendly calculations are required --> more precise longitude and latitude readings.
I'll explain how google earth gives fare enough precise readings of those 2 parameters.
Let's say you are assigned to estimate the cooling load for the municipal palace in jounieh Lebanon.
1rt step : search for jounieh using google earth

2nd step : click on the Add Placemark Icon

A new window will appear as well as a yellow traget cursor.

3rd step : take the target cursor to your target and you've got a precise longitude and latitude readings.
